"Rising youth Star"

“Whitney Uwandu - rising youth star” -

Now that is something I never imagined hearing and seeing written on the many promotional posters, pamphlets and social media posts.

See if you would have told little 9 year old me that I would have gone this far with my music and would have the opportunity to sing at such events such as the ‘55th Nigerian Independence Day celebration’ I would have probably laughed at you and think you were crazy but may I just also add that though some may think such experience isn’t even that big of a deal, there is no denying that this is only a huge stepping stone that assisted me to reaching my dream of being a successful singer and performer that is recognised on a world wide platform.

This experience allowed me to learn more about my self such as the fact that;

  • Crowds don’t really phase me anymore and if anything, crowds legitimately give me a natural “high” if you wish to say, which then allows me to perform with so much soul and passion.
  • I really (really, really, really) want to do this for the rest of my life!
  • And that I don’t really 100% realise the power that my voice has on people who are willing to listen (so basically everyone besides my annoying brothers…)**
  • Also this is a bit random of a random one but I am also extremely good at fighting against the temptation to eat delicious greasy foods before a performance haha.
  •

    So hey, it may seem like I’m tooting my own horn a little but honestly I feel as though self reflection  is extremely healthy for your mental wellbeing and development and to be quite frank, I AM quite proud of myself.

    So if anyone ends up coming across this that may also have dreams that are constantly on their mind from the time you wake all up until the time you slumber, then please know that with hard work, determination and patience, I assure you that you CAN do whatever you put your mind to and never give up because I and many others are rooting for you 100% of the way!
